Hi, I’m Robert Hetrick.
I've been an athlete for as long as I can remember. Sports shaped how I grew up — the competition, the discipline, the identity that comes with being someone who moves. When I found weightlifting over a decade ago, it felt like the natural next chapter.
But here's what nobody tells you: loving the gym doesn't mean you know what you're doing. For years, I struggled with my weight and my physique. I trained hard — sometimes too hard. I tried every diet, followed every trend, and constantly swung between going all-in and burning out. I'd look in the mirror and wonder why the effort wasn't matching the results.
The shift didn't come from a new program or a magic supplement. It came from education. I learned how to actually train — how to structure programming, how to fuel my body, how to recover, how to be patient. And once the approach changed, everything else followed. My body changed. My confidence changed. My entire relationship with fitness changed.
The biggest lesson? You don't need to destroy yourself to build yourself. Fitness doesn't have to be punishment. It doesn't require perfection. It requires a plan — one that's realistic, sustainable, and built around your life as it actually is.
That's why I created Blueprint Athletics. Because I've been the person who was doing everything and getting nowhere, and I know how frustrating that feels. My job is to take what I've learned — through over a decade of training, failing, and figuring it out — and hand you a clear path forward.
No gimmicks. No suffering for the sake of suffering. Just a simple blueprint that meets you where you are.
